Abstract Intuitive Minimalist Art
Experimental painting
Transformational art
Artist’s Statement
“Abstract intuitive minimalist art combines the structural simplicity of minimalism with the spontaneous and emotional processes of mark-making and intuitive painting. Using a ”less is more” approach to shape, line, and color, abstract intuitive minimalist art seeks beauty and meaning in the subtle means, allowing inner feelings and the subconscious to guide the creative process to create profound and often meditative visual experiences that foster a balance of flow and personal resonance, both calm and deeply expressive.”
“As suggested by the aesthetics of wabi-sabi, abstract intuitive minimalist art prefers intuitive creation – simplicity with depth, minimal forms – symmetry as well as asymmetry – inviting contemplation and emotional connection, working without preconceived plans, but rather letting gestures, colors, and materials guide the outcome.”
“As an artmaker, I allow the creative process to emerge through feeling and spontaneity, allowing lines, shapes, and textures to emerge naturally without overthinking or striving for perfection. Often, these abstract works are inspired by nature’s rhythm, creating semi-abstract forms that represent the essence of landscapes, trees, or light, rather than a literal, photorealistic representation.”
